Tactical Handgun

The Tactical Handgun Course is a dynamic and unique forty hour training program for law enforcement and specialized personnel with a need to advance their handgun skills beyond basic and intermediate levels. This course will introduce the students to modern pistolcraft skills and tactics that can be applied in life threatening situations, when there are no other options. While the course will begin by reviewing fundamental handgun skills, it will advance to a higher level, whereby the student learn the full tactical potential of the handgun, with emphasis placed on intensive combat speed shooting drills, precision shooting, bullet placement and tactical scenarios.

  • Drawing and firing exercises
  • Weapon retention
  • Defensive shooting exercises (Timed)
  • Basic timed speed drills
  • Speed/Tactical reloading techniques Malfunctions drills
  • Single and multiple target engagement
  • Shooting positions
  • Low light shooting techniques
  • Weapon care and maintenance
  • Loading and clearing weapon
  • Terminal ballistics and handgun stopping power
  • Cover and concealment–urban and rural settings

Advanced Tactical Handgun

This phase of the course is designed to enhance and sharpen the students tactical pistol skills learned in Tactical Handgun. This phase of the program features intensive high-speed tactical shooting drills with emphasis on bullet placement, target identification, wound ballistics and personal defense tactics. This program will not only improve the students performance and proficiency, which is measured by a variety of realistic scenarios and challenging shooting problems, but enhance the students ability to think tactically on his or her feet during a real world violent confrontation.
